How to set up a Donation Form on your Wix Website?

A donation form allows you to accept donations directly on your site, with funds processed securely and transferred directly to your account.

Before You Begin: You Need

• A live Wix website
• An active account with WhyDonate

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Follow these steps to integrate your WhyDonate donation form with your Wix site.

Step 1: Add the WhyDonate App to Your Wix Site

1. Log in to your Wix account and open the editor for the site you want to add donations to.
2. From the left menu, click on Apps.
3. Go to Wix App Market and Search WhyDonate.
4. Select the WhyDonate app from the results, click Add to Site, and click Agree and Add

Step 2: Connect Your WhyDonate Account

1. After adding the app, go to Wix Dashboard > Apps > WhyDonate
2. You will be directed to the WhyDonate Account Setup page.

3. Follow the instructions to either log in to your existing WhyDonate account or create a new one.
4. Once logged in, go to your WhyDonate Dashboard and navigate to Donation Forms in the left menu.
5. Select the specific donation form you want to connect to your Wix site.
6. Inside your form's settings, look for the API Key. Copy this unique API Key.

Step 3: Authorize and Paste Your API Key in Wix

1. Return to the WhyDonate settings window in your Wix editor.
2. Find the API Key label and paste the key you copied from your WhyDonate dashboard. After which, you should see the screen below.

Step 4: Add the Widget to Your Website Page

1. In Wix Editor, add the widget from App Widgets to your web page.
2. Go back to your WhyDonate dashboard, find the form you connected to and look for its Shortcode.
3. Copy this shortcode.
4. Return to your Wix editor.
5. Paste the shortcode you copied into this field and click Save.

The donation widget will now appear on your Wix page. You can click and drag it to position it exactly where you want your visitors to see it.
